Happy Wednesday! I hope that you have had a good week so far and that you are looking forward to the weekend. Today we are going to talk about Facebook ad types and how to choose the right one for you. But before we do, I’m going to give you a quick recap of what I’ve been talking about recently in case this is your first time visiting our blog. Last Friday I started my new series about a guide to success advertising on Facebook by telling you how to set objectives, and Monday I talked about targeting your audience.

So, now that we are all caught up, let’s look at how you can choose your Facebook ad type!

Define the Goal of Your Campaign 

Before beginning your ad campaign you’ll need to figure out what your goal is. Do you want to drive website conversions? Do you want to get people to attend your event? Do you want to increase your customer base in your store? 

You shouldn’t simply determine your campaign around the ad type you’re interested in using. Rather, you should begin with your marketing needs and then build the ad around them.

After you have defined the ad campaign’s goals, you should look at the various kinds of ads on Facebook that you can use. Select the one that is going to be most relevant that’s for your goals. There are different types of that can be used for one objective. If you want to drive ebook downloads, the following options could be used:

  4. Website Conversions

Narrow Your Ad Type Choices Down

After you have chosen the types of ads that will work best for your needs. select the one that’s going to work best for your campaign. You also can use those targeting, copy and creative options for setting up a test of your campaign using various types of ads and see what one works out best.

Write Copy & Create Assets

The manager tool of Facebook ads comes with a lot of layout and creative options. Along with the ability to choose from carousel, image, photo grid, and video options, you also can customize the ads for desktop and mobile audiences.

There are also a variety of CTAs that you can use on the ads. You also can make the decision to not use one. While you’re running various ad campaigns, you should test and look at each of them to see what is goign to work best.

Try Out Different Ad Types Based on Your Goals

You shouldn’t simply stick with one kind of ad for all your campaigns. Rather, be sure you’re optimizing each of the ad types for your campaign’s objectives. Try out the various ad types on Facebook and various ad campaigns. This will optimize the ad strategy to reach the right people.

Test Your Ads, Analyze the Results, & Repeat

After you have defined the objectives of your campaign, chosen your type of ad, created hte ad, and targeted your correct audience, you aren’t done yet. Now you have to analyze the results.

Keep in mind that digital advertising’s about testing things out, analyzing your results and then optimizing campaigns in the future as time goes by.
