But today I’m going to cover another big topic – how blogging helps SEO. Although there are a few ways blogging will help your site’s SEO, I’m going to cover the three main ones.

Search engines like it when you keep your content fresh. So, having a blog even updated once a month can keep your site updated so that it doesn’t get stale. That’s one reason why I said that you want to make sure that you have blogs that are relevant to the here and now. Otherwise, you might look like you don’t care about your customers and that you don’t care about their needs.
A Blog Keeps Visitors on the Site Longer
Another thing that search engines like is when your visitors stay on a website longer than a few seconds. If someone clicks on your website and then automatically leaves, it tells the search engine that your site doesn’t have what they want on it. In turn, that’s going to make your site rank lower in the search results.
But when you have interesting, engaging, and helpful content such as blogs on your site, they are much more likely to take the time to read them. This means that they are, in essence, telling the search engine that they are happy with your site and are likely to come back.
Blogging Offers Linking Opportunities
Many people use their blogs to link to big websites such as Amazon and other relevant sites. You also can provide links to your services, to your other blog topics, and to your contact page. When you have a blog that gets a lot of hits, you also might find that other sites are linking to you as well. This means more people can come to your blog and starts the whole cycle over again.
