Hello! Welcome to the end of the week. We have discussed how advertising with yard signs is an affordable option for many businesses. Today we are going to look at 4 tips for creating yard signs that work for you and your business.

Make the Message Short on the Yard Signs

When someone sees your yard sign, generally, they are not going to have a lot of time to read it. Usually, people are going to see it as they drive down the road. So the message should be something that they can read within just a few seconds. Because generally, that is all the time they are going to have to read it.

Remember Your Yard Signs Need a CTA

Your yard sign is being used because you’re trying to get your potential customers and prospects to do something. You need to tell them precisely what it is that action should be when they read your sign. For instance, it could be that you want them to call to make an appointment or to get more information about your service or product. You also may want them to visit your website to get more details.

Be Sure the Lawn Signs are Easy to Read

This probably sounds obvious. However, a lot of times it’s often overlooked when you are designing the yard signs. This may come as a surprise, but the lettering of 9″ tall isn’t big enough when a car’s moving 35 miles per hour. if you look at your lettering and think it’s too large, there’s a good chance that it’s perfect. Your potential customers only have 3 or so seconds to see the yard signs, read them, and then process the message on the signs. Incorporate nice and legible fonts, then bold them so that they stand out. A recommended font is Helvetica.

Consider Including Arrows on Yard Signs

If the business you are advertising is close by, it’s a good idea to include some arrows for directing traffic. Drivers already are used to seeing arrows while driving, so they are going to find it’s a lot easier to find the location when you use an arrow rather than attempting to read an address.

These are four tips you can use when you are creating your yard signs for your business. We use UZ Marketing for our yard signs and we have had a lot of success with them.
